Sick sick again?

Oh dear, Alicia was running a fever last nite at 38.4~C. Gave her a dose of paracetemol and she was alrite throughout the nite. But her cough seemed to have come back.

Daddy blamed me for giving her banana crepe, and Mummy blamed him for turning the air-con too cold! Hee.... whatever it is, Alicia's well again this morning.

Singapore Fireworks Festival

Mummy booked a harbourview room at Swissotel Stamfored for 23 Aug to catch the fireworks. The kids are excited when I told them we're going to stay at a hotel again. Quick quick, come...

Action boy

Brandon loves doing 'actions' when singing, while Alicia just keeps singing n singing.

Mummy me will try to capture him in action one of these days, just in case this is forgotten in years to come...

Roll over

Milestone for Caden: Body roll over

Caden has finally succeded in rolling over. A little late, but he's now doing it so frequently that it's difficult to leave him alone on the mattress or bed. He can't be left alone on the rocker too!

Happy birthday san-gu

Wonder who's the birthday girl or boy? No... not Alicia nor Brandon. It's San-gu!

Haircut again

Daddy & Brandon needed a haircut again. Uncle Simmon said their head shapes and hair texture are the same. Of course lah, father & son...

Alicia said her hair is not long yet, in her exact words "my hair not long yet, haven't reach the shoulders" so no need to cut. This means she missed out on the McDonald's lunch!

Mummy did the scalp treatment for hair loss again - 2nd time.

Brandon with the cheeky smile, enjoying his cup corn.

Durian Fest

After a good shower, we continued with our plan for the day... Durian Fest.

With compliments from OCBC, we headed off to HortPark at Alexandra Road for some durians.

It's a horticulture park, which looks nice. We would never have been there, if not for this event.

Alicia & Brandon enjoyed cherries & fishball more than the main course, durian.

Caden looked at Mummy me and seemed to be asking me to give him some durian.
He was so happy when I took photos of him.

He keeps giving this "tight lips" smile these few days.

Other than enjoying fruits such as durians, cherries and mangoes, they also have food like satay, fishball, mee hoon. The kids were also entertained with balloon scuplture, magic show and a bouncing castle.

Daddy rushed home to watch the last episode of the Korean show...

Xplorer Kid

Da-gu managed to get the free pass to Xplorer Kid for today. We brought the kids there early in the morning.
They enjoyed the colorful ball pool...

Just see how excited Brandon was, throwing the balls...

There's also the Lit Pool, with white balls and different colored lights as effect.
Digging for gold? No, they kept singing "swimming in the water, swimming in the water, bubble bubble splash!"

It was so difficult getting them to pose as they just kept running about!

The cameraman, i.e. Mummy me, had to be in action with them...

Haa.. even Daddy was in action!

Adventorous Alicia...

Playful kids

Aw... it was so tiring. In slightly more than an hour, we're all so exhausted and hungry! The kids slept on the way home, after our lunch.

Much better

Brought Alicia to Dr Ong for review today. She's much better now.

The happy little girl "deh" at Dr Ong today. Dr Ong also played along with her, making her even more happier. She got her biscuit & marshmallow today again...

Damage: $44, but was given 2 400g tins of Gain IQ Kid.

Happy little girl

Daddy says he noticed that Alicia is very happy since yesterday. Well, of course, since she has Mummy's full attention for the whole morning. Same goes for today.

After Daddy sent Brandon to school today, Alicia sat on her own to read her flashcards and story books. She's a very good girl, without her di-di.

She wanted to play computer games, so I allowed her to. She's able to navigate on her own now. Mummy just need to leave her alone at the games page and she can go from coloring to puzzle to games, etc. Also realised that she has very good memory. Hmmm... time to start her with learning new things.

Brandon's worksheets

Brandon got back his worksheets. Aiyo, what a mess. He's really different from his jie-jie who can color so well.
He learnt Sun & Rain last week.
No wonder he was singing "It's a sunny day, it's a sunny day...."

Alicia alone

Sent Brandon to school today and Alicia was alone, without the swiper.

She asked to play Playdoh, and she got what she wanted, after her nebuliser.

Oh, peace...

Art & Craft - Shapes

Mummy me bought some new construction paper and scissors set. Cut out some shapes and let Alicia & Brandon do up some art pieces.

When Alicia saw the triangles, she decided on a Christmas tree (just like the Barney vcd on Shapes). Take a look at her idea of a Christmas tree.

Anyone can tell who did up the Christmas tree.. (sorry for the angle of the photo)

ABC to the clinic again

Postdated: 22 July 2008, Tuesday

ABC were off to Dr Ong's clinic again.

Alicia: Still has lots of phlegm and is coughing badly.
Dr Ong's presciption: Nebuliser for the next 3 days, and a review on Friday. No school again.

Brandon: The baluku cos of the fall.
Dr Ong's diagnosis: Aiyo... blue black would be worse over the next few days. It will spread near the eyes. Clinically, otherwise ok. Huridoid to be applied.

Caden: Coughing at night and starting to have runny nose.
Dr Ong's prescription:

Alicia & Brandon were very observant. We were waiting in the room, as Dr Ong was called off for an emergency standby, and they noticed the mini-packs marshmallows. I told them," No, Dr Ong only has biscuits, remember?" And they pointed it to me! Yah, he now has marshmallows too. After their checks, Dr Ong asked if they want biscuits, and they quickly replied, "I want marshmallow!!" Of course they got what they wanted...

Damage: $270

Big Baluku

Postdated: 21 July 2008, Monday

Brandon was playing on his own. He tripped when he ran and knocked against the step near the play area. Tepomp! A big baluku on his nose bridge... Mummy me's heart nearly dropped out - quickly applied huridoid.

I was asking him to let me take a pix.. he just posed and smiled.

Within the next minute, he was up & running about again. Boys will be boys...

Supporter of Abbott

The TAN Family is an avid supprter of Abbott products. We've been spending a bomb on these formula milk and Mummy me heard that the prices are going up again from August. $$$

Engineers in the making

What's wrong with the tricycle?

Mummy me was just away for a minute, when Alicia & Brandon started to dismantle the tricycle. Did you notice? The back seat support and the front Thomas have been removed! In fact, the back seat's screws came loose. Might as well remove them, to play safe.

This photo was taken last week...

Bleah!

A key? No, it's a pool of bleah! Alicia vomitted out her milk this morning.
Good, as her phlegm is now discharged.

Give me more time

Caden: "Nah... I'm not going to roll over yet. Give me more time, pls."

"I'll just do it for you to take a photo..."

"Oh hurry, I'm drooling."

"This is a much better position..."

Upper Peirce Reservoir

Er-gu dropped Xiao-gu off to get the Casuarina Roti Prata for dinner, and we drove in to Upper Peirce Reservoir.

We were hoping to catch a view of the monkeys on our way in, but... not a single monkey in sight cos the rain just stopped. The kids were so disappointed.

Playful children

Daddy & Mummy had to make a trip to the lawyer's office @ HDB Hub in the morning. I had initially only intended to bring Alicia along. But, Daddy said, bring both. I regretted not disagreeing with him.

We had breakfast @ Ya Kun. Alicia was very good, eating on her own. Brandon, argh!!! He kept insisting on feeding himself. I didn't want to, of course. Again, Daddy said, never mind. So, I let him jagar lor. So angry! Just the 1st mouth only, and he dirtied his shirt! Daddy giggled... : #

After our appointment, we brought them to Kiddy Palace. Daddy went to Singapore Post & UOB to run some errands. Mummy me was left alone with the kids. Oh my! I can't handle them! When I couldn't take it, I told them I'll leave them alone. And, I walked off, hiding somewhere. Alamak! They couldn't be bothered with me!!! Silly Mummy had no choice but to just let them play with whatever they wanted till Daddy came back...

We went to 99's place to fetch Caden after that. Caden's been at 99's place for the past few days, so as not to catch the virus from jie-jie & gor-gor. Glad that he was happy to see Daddy & Mummy. : )

It was home sweet home after lunch at 99's place. Zzzzz time for the kids & Daddy now.

Retirement for Tu-tu

Brandon has successfully weaned off his tu-tu, without any problems. Hurray!

Thank you, tu-tu, for accompanying us for the past 2 years, whenever you're needed. It's time you retire.

Mei Hwan Drive Playground

The weather was good today. After the kids' afternoon nap, brought them to the playground at Mei Hwan Drive, beside GoldenHill Condo.

Hoooh!!! Up, up & away!!!

Brandon & Alicia trying to make funny face & pose.

A very big space...

Huggies Play Tent

Mummy redeemed a play tent from Huggies. Quite nice, cos very colorful.

The kids were happy, cos our other play tent has been kept in the store for some time. Mummy me didn't know how to keep it so, don't dare to open up again. Luckily I was able to keep this tent back into it's original 'condensed' version, after much effort, of course.

40.3

Wats dat? It's Brandon's temperature at 5am this morning! Luckily he allowed Mummy me to insert a suppository into his anus to bring down the temperature.

So, off we went to Dr Ong's clinic at 9.30am. As Daddy just flew back from Taiwan last nite, he's needed back at the office. Mummy me brought Alicia & Brandon to TMC by cab.

Cheese pancake while waiting. We waited till 12.30pm... Imagine how tired Mummy was, looking after the 2 rascals.

It was worth the wait. Dr Ong was extremely nice to them today. He hug hug and chatted with Brandon, before giving him the biscuit. Even called him Mr Dao (stuck-up) as Brandon didn't thank him. Both the 2 kids giggled & laughed...

When it was Alicia's turn, she kept wriggling when he wanted to listen to her lungs. He called her Ms Jellyfish. Aiyo, she was so tickled that she kept laughing. When I complained that Alicia kept biting her nails, Dr Ong pulled her hand and said, "Come, I help you to bite..." When he checked her ear for infection, he said, "Yee... so much gar-gar inside.." Haaaaa.... Today, she dared to ask him for the biscuits.

Diagnose: Brandon has throat infection, which causes the fever. He also has running nose. Expect to start coughing. Alicia has a blocked nose and is coughing badly. Lots of phlegm.

Damage: $161. Not too bad. Mummy even asked for sample sachets of Gain IQ & Gain IQ Kid. Nurse Sharon was nice to give me a 400g tin of Gain IQ in addition to the sachets.

Daddy came to fetch us home during his lunch break.

Upon Dr Ong's instructions, no air-con for these 2 days, no gai-gai and no school. This means, the person to suffer most is Mummy me!!!

Blocked nose

Oh dear, Alicia is having a stuffy nose since yesterday. Have been giving her the medicine prescribed by Dr Ong, but doesn't seem to show any improvement.

Maybe, have to make a trip to SBCC tomorrow...

So you think you can dance

We were watching So You Think You Can Dance III on Channel 5 last nite. Alicia & Brandon started to imitate the dancers.

Let's watch first...

Then, the moves... Brandon even contemplated doing the split!

Xie-xie... he learnt the bow from school.

Where's my tu-tu bear bear?

After so many days, Brandon finally asked for his tu-tu bear-bear... When Mummy told him I dunno where it is, he just walked away. Phew! Yes, it's another day without tu-tu...

Brandon singing his nursery rhymes... look closely - the book is upside down!

5 months old

Caden is 5 months today.

He was lying on his bed playing on his own when Mummy me was preparing Alicia & Brandon for school. When Mummy was putting on clothes for jie-jie, Caden made some sounds which seemed like "jie-jie"! Aiya, Alicia was so excited and happy telling me, "Mummy, mummy, Caden called me jie-jie!" Like real...

Caden can hold toys with his hands. However, everything that goes to him, gets into his mouth. Are all kids like this?

Hmmm... he still can't turn/flip over by himself leh... Maybe, cos we seldom let him lie on his tummy. But each time we let him do so, he'll try to push himself forward. This morning, dunno how he did it, he just kept pushing himself backwards! In the end, his legs were hanging in the air and can't reach the floor cos he has reached the end of the mattress. Cry for help lor...

Hi & Bye

Daddy's home from Malaysia on Saturday afternoon but is on his way to Taiwan for meeting again today. : ( We'll miss you again, Daddy!

Yes, it's goodbye tu-tu

Yes, Brandon has said bye-bye to his tu-tu... For 2 consecutive days, he did not ask for his tu-tu. Wow, didn't know it's so easy to wean off tu-tu. Mummy should have done this much earlier.

Anyway, good job, Brandon!

Sunday, July 13, 2008

Another day without tu-tu

It was a nite without tu-tu last nite. Today, Brandon didn't ask for it again! Hurray!!! We shall not say that word for the next few days... Great job, Brandon!

Stylo...

You must be thinking they're going for an outing again? Nope... it's just popping by Gu-gong's house for lunch before going to 99's house to fetch Caden home.

Bedtime stories

Alicia jie-jie read bed-time stories to Brandon before they went to bed.

Brandon can read too!
