Genting Highlands

We went on a trip to Genting Highlands on Boxing Day - the Tan family, with 99, Er-gu and Cousins Denise & Shermaine! The coach ride was tiring... but the weather there was great. Afraid that Caden would be cranky from the coach ride, we bought a portable DVD player for him to watch his nursery rhymes VCD. It was a right decision, cos even Alicia & Brandon also watched their Power Rangers VCD and gave us some peaceful moments.
That place is super-crowded. Everywhere we go, it's people and people. The indoor theme park's queue was also very long - almost 30mins wait for the rides. But, the kids enjoyed themselves cos they could play again and again with the day pass. We also played in the arcade.

The 1st ride we took on Day 1- toot-toot-train, which we paid per ride @ $8 cos we din know of the family package.
They have Christmas deco n lightings all around. Caden loves the snowman.

The rides at the Indoor Theme Park. We skipped the Outdoor Theme Park cos not suitable for the kids. Unlimited rides with the Family Package @ $109.
5 times on the Merry-go-round

The carriage on the Merry-go-round. Even Daddy & 99 gets to sit on it.

4 or 5 times on the car-ride.

Other rides include the Gondola, Monorail which goes outdoor, Ferris Wheel (Caden went back to sleep in the room with 99), Reindeer, etc.

Playing at the Arcade. On the last day, we nearly missed the room check-out time!
The food at Genting were :p. The meal we enjoyed most was at Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant. Even Alicia commented, "Mummy, I love the dinner tonite." Cos she slurped 2 bird's nest egg tarts and the almond juice.

Now... looking forward to our New Year's Eve party.

Merry Christmas!

We had our Christmas celebration at home on the eve. After dinner, the kids were anxiously waiting for Xiao-gu to return home from work. Cos Mummy said they could only unwrap their presents when she's home. Wow... so many presents for them. They haven't finished opening up all as at now yet. No more toys next year.

Daddy tried on Brandon's Power Rangers' JF's dunno-what-hand-toy

Baby

Alicia loves to wrap her dolls and carry them like babies. That day, Caden did the same too. After looking at Caden's photo, Alicia screamed, "Mummy!!! My baby's head dropping!"

My handsome boy

Brandon stayed at 99's place for 3 days to recuperate from the HFMD. Fetched him home on 23 Dec for a haircut at Uncle Simmon's. My handsome boy...

Xiao-gu's birthday

We din manage to celebrate Cousin Denise's birthday on Thur, but did so for Xiao-gu's birthday today. All were afraid that the kids' saliva's contagious, so Da-gu bought separate cakes for them to blow the candles. So funny...

HFMD Update

Alicia and Brandon are recovering well. Brandon has started eating since Thurs. As for Caden, he's a milder version of Brandon. His rashes are minimal, jus slightly more than Alicia. However, he has a few ulcers on his inner lips and tongue. So, he's not swallowing his saliva these few days. His shirt would be wet in a few minutes so Mummy started putting on a bib for him. Once in a while, he'll complain of the pain. Good thing is he's still eating and drinking.
Brandon's rashes on his legs

They've been "stuck" at home for too long... Mummy allowed them to play outdoors in the afternoon and evening yesterday.

What's after A and B?

Daddy & Mummy brought Alicia and Brandon to Dr Ong for a review today. Mummy's kinda worried cos gor-gor is not eating & drinking well yet. He's only taking honey water, milk, yoghurt, tao-huay and little bit of porridge these days. Alicia has been gorging on her food as usual. Mummy was also unsure when her full outbreak of the rashes would be. She's only like less than 10% of Brandon.

Dr Ong said Alicia's HFMD is very mild. No further outbreak. Brandon's rashes are drying up. He certified them ready for school on Monday. When I checked with him on Caden, he said if he has not had any outbreak by today, he should be clear. I was so glad. For the past few days, when he was left at 99's place, Mummy has been making numerous phone calls checking on him. On our way to Dr Ong's clinic in the morning, I also checked on him. 99 said he's doing very well, happily playing & singing daily.

Dunno if it's Dr Ong's healing hands or what, no medicine was given, but Brandon ate 1.5 cheese pancake in the car on our way home! Mummy was so happy to see him eat. O... forgot to mention. This boy is wheezing and needs to neb. Mus be the result of crying too much when Mummy forced him to eat & drink.

Then, at 5pm, Mummy received a phone call from 99. Caden woke up from his nap and is running a fever at 40.8^!!!! Rushed down to check on him and found some ulcers in his mouth. Very few small dots of rashes on his hands and feet. Sigh... What comes after A & B? C lah! My Caden has also caught the bug. Happy too early le...

HFMD

Brandon developed a bit of rashes on his body & legs on Monday morning. Mummy tot it was jus rashes cos of the environment at the reservoir on Sunday. Who knows, he developed more of the rashes on his hands, feet & buttocks after we came back from TM and worse, there were ulcers in his mouth. HFMD???? Worried, I immediately brought him to see a doc at Tampines One.

Argh!!!! Confirmed it's HFMD!!! Where did he catch it? I kept thinking... 99 blamed me for bringing him out like crazy for the past few days. He mus hv caught it from those malls. How now? Doc said need to quarantine for 7 days. Leave him at 99's place, was the solution everyone gave. In the end, I decided, no... I can't leave him alone. So, decided on leaving Caden at 99's place and letting Alicia go to child care as per normal and sleeping with Er-gu at nite. Think so much... for nothing. In the evening, my fears came true. Alicia has some rashes too. Shucks!!! She's caught it too.

So, we're at home now... with Daddy! He developed fever last nite, and we tot, "O dear.... did he catch HFMD too?" Heng ah!!! It's only flu.

When I called the school this morning, I was told that 2 other kids were down with HFMD too.

Day out with Val

The kids' school was closed on Monday. So, we went to 99's place. Cousin Val went with us to TM and bought for them Christmas presents.

Coloring at Emiko Arts

Kiddy Rides

Fishing, with a net

We went to Pierce Reservoir to catch fish on Sunday. Bought the net few weeks back and the kids were eager to go again. Daddy said it was more the adults who were catching rather than the kids. So, how's our catch? Less than 10 baby-fish and a baby prawn. They were released back into the water cos we knew they'd die within the next 1-2 days if we keep them in the tank.

Changed clothes for them in the car and we went to Bishan J8 for dinner. Tot we'd get to play with the big bubble. Too bad, passes have been fully redeemed.
Dinner @ Sakae

Played kiddy rides instead of the bubbles.

Art - Deers

Alicia drew Deers for her art class on Sunday. Lazy girl was very fast to complete - any how color, if u notice... cos she knew that we're going out after her class. Sorry, can't seem to be able to rotate.

Healthy Lifestyle

For healthy lifestyle sake, we brought the kids to Serangoon Stadium on Sunday morning for exercise. The kids were tired after walking 2 rounds and chose to monkey around at the exercise area instead.

AMK Hub's Parade

Went to AMK Hub on Sat evening and caught the characters parade. We saw them at B1 and one of the guards told us that they'll be parading to L1 for a short performance, So, we followed them. Daddy & Mummy were commenting that it was so odd for us to follow them from behind, like as if we're chasing the lion dance. Jus then, a Mummy who was pushing a stroller and holding a girl, also following behind the parade, turned to us and said, "好像出殡 hor?" Faintz...

Kids taking photos with the characters. Caden was scared...

We redeemed 3 passes for the kids to play at the event area. 1st stop - Mini sports. Brandon chose to play basketball, while Alicia & Caden chose to play bowling.

2nd stop - Jumping castle & slide. Caden? Scared to jump with the older kids who were so rough

3rd stop - Art & craft. Caden was more than happy to play with the markers & color pencils

4th stop - Mummy paid to let them play the kiddy rides

On our way to the car park, we saw that it was "snowing". We din hv to go to Tanglin Mall lah!

Kids Golf

We brought the kids to Citigold's event - kids golf at Marina Golf Country Club. Initially, Mummy tot it was jus the Kindergolf type of golf play for them. But, the kids really went to the green! Parents were not allowed to follow them. So, Mummy had to take photos of them from the Canopy.

The weather was cooling but it was sunny. Mummy forgot to pass them their shades n hat! All were left in my Doraemon bag. By the time they were done, they were so hot and thirsty. They were too tired to continue with Round 2, i.e. the swing, at the driving range. Quite a good experience for them, I mus say.
Entertaining themselves with the scratch art and painting before the golf session.
Caden din require our entertainment. More like, he required our chasing!
Mummy took photos of them from far. I love the background view.

Kids being entertained by the balloon sculpture man after their game.

Not too bad... cos we still won $60 Toys R Us vouchers from the lucky draw.

Barney's World of Imagination

It's crazy... but we went to United Square to catch the Barney show at 7pm, after a short nap. Caden loves it!

We reached there at 6.10pm and the queue to watch the show was already so long. Daddy was still saying we might need to go back the next day instead. Luckily, we got our seats, although we din get to redeem a photo-pass.

The imaginary hat which every kid got. Alicia was so glad hers was a Princess crown.

Mus mention - We were in between the packed crowd of parents n kids. Brandon needed to pee jus before the start of the show. How, how??? Dun think we can make our way out & back... So, he had to make do with the Gardenia plastic bag (Mummy gave them raisin bread while waiting) to pee. Mummy doubled it with a ziplog bag. Oops!! Sorry... this is so not me!

We walked over to Revenue House for Jap dinner after the show. They were jumping about at this I-dunno-wat-it's-called-place (lights on the floor) when we went back to get our car.
