It's Mine!!!

Caden has a habit of saying, "It's mine!" for something which he wants. This morning, he grabbed hold of Er-gu's bag and ran away with it. Then, he hid and opened up the zip to take things out from it. When er-gu went to him, this was how he hugged on to the bag, refusing to let go.

O-ya-ishineh!

Mummy made oreo milkshake for 2 consecutive days. The kids love it so much. Caden said, "Nice... Good... Delicious..." So, we taught him "oishineh". Then, he kept saying, "O-ya-ishineh!" Sounds so cute when he said it.

Super Nanny?

Mummy tried the Super Nanny's Naughty Corner after Auntie Constance succeeded in trying it on Kaelyn.

I have a Naughty Corner, where I give each a star if they are naughty. At times, they would be required to stand and face the wall.

I also have a Reward Card, where I give each a sticker if they are good and well-behaved. The type of sticker varies. I just gave Brandon a bigger sized sticker for being very good. I told them I'll give them a present for every 10 stickers that they get.
They'll happily stick the stickers on themselves when they get 1 from me. Compare the 2 cards above - Alicia neatly stuck hers high on the card. Brandon's stickers are so messy, and are on the bottom. Height issue??

The only problem - people have been asking why this scheme is only applicable for Alicia & Brandon. How about Caden? Well, he's still too young mah... His turn will come.

Daily, they would ask for stickers to stick on their card. It seems to be working, in the sense that I don't get as much nonsense from them as before. Hopefully, by the time the reward card is full of stickers, the Naughty card is still blank.

So, anyone has spare stickers to give away??? I'll have to start collecting cheapo stickers from now.

Playgroup - yes or no?

At 20 months, Caden can communicate very well. Sometimes, I feel that his vocab is as good as his gor-gor. He can tell us whatever he wants and can even reply to us when we ask him questions.

Each time we send jie-jie & gor-gor to school in the morning, Caden would insist on going in to join the kids. This makes Daddy prompt Mummy to send him to playgroup in Jan next year, so that he can pick up social skills as well. Mummy's considering hard now. Is it too early?

Buffet Lunch

We brought the kids to Merchant Court Hotel's Ellenborough Market Cafe for buffet lunch yesterday. Only Alicia needs to pay so, quite worth it. They ate alot - but not the main dishes. All junk food - soup, crispy platter, cakes, fruits, marshmallow, durian puree, ice-cream, etc.

When we were about to leave, Caden told me, "Mummy, put put cannot come out..." Brought him to the toilet and stayed some time there for him to ng ng. Luckily they had a nice diaper station corner. He was sulking before his poo came out. Once his business was done, his ambassador's personality was back into action; he said to everyone who came in n out of the toilet, "Hello, everybody. Goodbye, everybody."

After lunch, we made a quick detour to 99's house to celebrate small-yi's birthday. As Valarie jie-jie had to study for her O-levels, we left very quickly.

Alicia skipped her art class this week...

Amelia's first month

We were invited to Amelia's 1st month celebration today at Uncle Jeffrey and Auntie Tze Wei's place. As she was quietly sleeping throughout, we din manage to carry or take photos with her. I jus have to thank Tze Wei's mum for helping me look after the kids while Daddy & Mummy were having our lunch. She played with them and made them laugh so much. On our way home, Caden could still tell me who played with them and what they played with.

Fell down

Picked Alicia up from school yesterday. She was playing at the playground with her friends. When I went in to pick Brandon, she fell n tripped while picking up the dried leaves on the ground to throw at her friends. This is the 2nd time she fell and injured her leg.
She kept quiet when the teacher cleansed for her. On the way home, she told me after walking about 100m, "Mummy, my leg pain.. I cannot walk already." So, this Mummy had to carry her all the way home lor. The moment we reached home, Brandon announced to everybody that Alicia fell down in school. When Shermaine and Ah Ma came to check on her, she started crying out loudly, and non-stop. After her shower, we had a conversation:
A: "Mummy, I don't want to go to school tomorrow."
M" "It's Saturday tomorrow, so there's no school."
A: "Then, Sunday I don't want to go for my art class."
M: "Why?"
A: "Because my leg pain pain."
M: "O... den if we go shopping tomorrow, u stay at home ok??"
A: "No... I also want to go shopping. I can sit in the stroller."
Like that also can?

Sum Seng?

Brought Caden to the Bishan Library this afternoon. This sum seng (gangster) boy ah... these incidents happened.

1. He pulled 1 book out from the shelf and told me he wants to sit down. Then, he walked off. I continued with my search for books. I realised later that he walked over to an auntie who was seated, and told her, "Caden want to sit sit...". Faintz...

2. A girl, about 5 years old, was sitting on the floor with a few books. Caden walked over to her, and pulled the book she was reading, saying, "Caden want to read." Faintz...

3. A boy, about 6 years old, was sitting down, with a book placed on the floor. He walked over and stepped on the book. When I asked him to stop, he step n step some more. Faintz...

4. A boy, about 8 years old, was sitting down, reading a book. He walked over, and piggy-backed on him, saying, "chi-kok, chi-kok.." Faintzzz...!!!!

I dunno whether to laugh or to cry...

Fully toilet trained

Mummy started Alicia diaper-free at nite only when her diapers were dry for weeks in the morning. I din even need to start the first few days by waking her up every few hourly to pee. She's been a good girl so far, waking up at most once when she needs to pee.

Brandon recently requested to be diaper-free at nite too. Initially, I refused as his diaper would be very heavy every morning. He has already been diaper free for the day, and even during his afternoon nap, for some time. This week, he insisted. So, Mummy let him try. I woke him up twice at nite to pee - had to set my alarm at 1am and 4am... : ( So far, so good. I praised him for being a good boy and he's very happy. Thank you, Brandon, now Mummy can save some $ on diapers. Next target - Caden.

Contagious

Dun worry, it's not any illness... it's the kids' laughter! While I was preparing their milk, I caught them playing...

Skipping school

Alicia has been having this runny nose and cough with phlegm for more than a week. Self-medication din help. So, Mummy brought her to Dr Ong on Monday. Reached there about 11am and was horrified by the queue. I was given the appointment queue number, but still waited till 2+pm before I got to see him!! Faintz... Reason - Dr Ong was on leave last week for a Shanghai trip. Hence, many appointments have been pushed to this week. See doctor also can postpone one meh??? Luckily, Mummy was smart. Brought an activity book for Alicia to do while waiting. We popped over to United Square for lunch before heading home. 4pm! Took a long shower to "kill" the germs. So, no nap for her. Let her skip school on Tuesday to recover.

The boy beside her kept pestering to help her color and so on...

At Swensens... after her lunch, she walkd over to me and gave me a big hug, saying, "Mummy, I like you. Thank you for bringing me to eat spaghetti and ice-cream. I'm very happy."

Laugh and laugh

We went to Crystal Jade Toa Payoh for dinner last nite. When they reached home, the siblings were super excited. Dunno why, but they jus laughed and laughed amongst themselves...

Going Sentosa

No, we din go Sentosa. It's Alicia's art class theme. But, the teacher abit outdated lah... cable cars no longer in action now. Hee...

Almost 12 hours

Saturday - we spent almost 12 hours outside! Woke up early in the morning, grabbed a quick breakfast, and we headed to The Istana for the open house, which was open cos of Deepavali. It's our 1st time there, for most of us. Guess the best part the kids enjoyed was the open playground. Even Caden was running about the slides.

Alicia asked for ice-cream. So, we ate while watching the school band performance. We left at about 1pm for lunch before going for shopping at OG. We also popped over to Orchard Central - and took escalator after escalator before leaving.
Da-gu called us and suggested having dinner at J8. So, we took a fast shower at home and left the house again! By the time we reached home, the kids were all so sleepy! They knocked out within 15mins!!!

The Siblings

Whatever toys Alicia or Brandon takes, Caden would want to snatch from them. If he doesn't get his way, he'll pull their hair or shirt. However, Daddy & Mummy noticed that the 2 elder siblings will usually not fight back, i.e. won't pull his hair lor.
It has come to a stage where Alicia or Brandon will help each other, i.e. if Caden snatches something which Brandon is playing with, Alicia will help Brandon stop him from taking. This naughty little rascal is getting on people's nerves.
In happier times...

Terrible Two

Caden is 20 months old and at the 'terrible two' stage now. Sometimes, he'll jus whine and cry for nothing. Or, he'll insist on things he wants by crying. Arghhh!!! It makes me irritated at times. When will he get over this stage?

School Photos

Alicia and Brandon had their photo-taking in school last week. The photos:

Alicia - Individual shot. Hair so messy. Mummy put on a nice hair clip for her, but dunno what happened during the photo shoot.

Alicia's Class Photo
Brandon - Individual shot. No smile...

Mouse or Tiger?

Jus 2 days ago, Daddy & er-gu were lamenting that Brandon is a tiger at home but a mouse in school, as in fierce vs timid. Who knows, they spoke too fast. Mummy picked Brandon up from school yesterday and Teacher Alice told me that he had scratched his classmate, Yi Yang's face. When Teacher Chen was trying to find out from him what had happened, he gave her a slap on her lap and screamed for her to stop asking! Wah!

Mummy talked to him calmly at home and managed to find out what had happened. According to him, he was playing alone when the friend came to snatch his toys. Angry, he scratched him! Roar!!! Explained to him that it was wrong to do that and so on... Thinking back, remembering the biting incident which happened to Brandon, I put myself in Yi Yang's mother's shoes. She mus be feeling heartache and angry for seeing her boy's face - one line on the cheek. Sorry...

When I told 99 this morning, she said, "Good what... better than him getting scratched." Faintz...

Art Class this week

Alicia's art class yesterday - she drew a dinosaur.

Also took back the past pieces... Leopard & Deepavali

Breakfast, Dinner & Dessert

Sunday - 99 came to pick Caden up last nite, so Daddy & Mummy went to catch a movie. Brought Alicia & Brandon to MacDonald's for breakfast and waited for Da-yi to bring Caden back at Serangoon Gardens.

After Alicia's art class, we headed to J8 for dinner. Daddy was the happiest, cos we bought the Braun blender which he has been eyeing for very long. Went to NTUC to buy strawberries, ice-cream, milk, etc. and headed home to make strawberry milk shake - our dessert!
Kiddy rides...
Dinner at Sakae Sushi - Caden insisted on feeding himself! Argh!!!
The kids' "xiao hua mao" face after the milkshake. Caden went from Daddy's cup, to jie-jie's cup, to Mummy's cup to take a sip... Forgot to take photo of Daddy's face - should be the happiest of all!

Central Fire Station

Saturday - Caden woke up at 4.30am and refused to sleep. Mummy me laid beside him and he jus kept on singing to himself - the full version of a few songs. This went on till 6am and he suddenly cried and asked for milk. He slept after that. Naughty little boy!

Woke the kids up early to go... Central Fire Station! All went well, till we parked our car at Armenian Street. It started to drizzle... As planned, we went to Funan for breakfast - Ya Kun Toast. Caden gave me a shock! I carried him off his stroller and turned my head away for a few seconds, when I found him missing! I looked around at the nearby escalator and exit door. He could not be found! Suddenly, he popped out his head from behind a pillar, smiling... Daddy called out to me, and I was so relieved! He was hiding, a game he likes to play now!!!
Before breakfast, at the MacDonald's and kiddy ride...

The rain stopped for a while and we walked over to the Central Fire Station. However, it started to drizzle again... what a wrong day to choose to come...
Despite the rain, the kids get to enjoy the water splash and climbing up the fire engines...
As it started pouring, we headed to the Heritage Gallery. They tried on the fireman's uniform...
See Caden so eager to trace the pictures...

We headed home to change into dry clothes, before heading to Takashimaya for lunch and shopping!!!

We went TOPLESS too!

Thanks to Auntie Jan's recommendation, we went Topless too, on the topless Hippo Tour bus! Mummy told Daddy about the 1 City, 3 Festivals tour, and he said, "Let's go tonite!" So, off we went last nite! The weather was cooling as it rained in the day. Being a Thursday, it wasn't crowded too.

It was initially supposed to be 3 festivals tour, i.e. Mid-Autumn at Chinatown, Hari Raya at Kampong Glam and Deepavali at Little India. However, according to the guide, it's been some time past Hari Raya and Kampong Glam has "closed" business aka removed lightings. So, they led us to a longer stretch of Chinatown & Little India instead.
Returned to Chinatown's Food Street for dessert after the ride, and Caden came down with fever!?! Not sure if it was cos of the strong wind or the scare he had in the morning from the Big Bad Wolf VCD. O... He cried after he watched the song Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf - he was afraid of the wolf! Luckily, he's ok now...
The boarding pass - we only paid $5 per adult. All kids free!

Caden was very excited and happy, even Alicia says so. He kept standing up, enjoying the breeze, and humming songs and calling to everyone.

Past art pieces

Realised Mummy hasn't been uploading Alicia's art pieces for the past few lessons. Partly cos Mummy din pick her up and the art pieces are kept and returned only at the next lesson. Here's 2 of the pieces which have jus been returned to her on Sunday.

Lantern festival

Kids sitting on train - she said she drew Alicia, Brandon & Caden

Bubbles time

The kids played with bubbles on Sunday afternoon...

Haircut for the kids

It's photoshoot for the kids on Monday in school, so Brandon requested a haircut. While Mummy was having my haircut, Daddy brought them to the provision shop next door, and... they managed to trick him to a lollipop each!!!

Mid-Autumn Festival

We din manage to have our mooncake party cos the family was sick on Saturday. Alicia also ran a fever after the zoo trip. Worse, it was raining... Only brought the kids for a walk around our neighbourhood at 9+pm. Daddy and Mummy bought 5 lanterns this year - costing abt $2 - $5 each. All spolit liaoz... except for the 2 self-made ones. Din like any of the lanterns I saw this year - hope to get nicer ones next year.

Brandon ate the sesame mooncake from Bakerzin till he dirtied his short. Alicia's kool-pad was still on in the evening...
